Sarlahi and Mahotari districts have been declared as vet diclofenac free districts on the date 4 August 2017 and 7 August 2017 respectively.  District Livestock Service Offices (DLSO) of both districts led the task to make the districts free from vet diclofenac with an aim of saving the vultures from brink of extinction. Before that, biologist Ankit Bilash Joshi and Ishwari Chaudhary from BCN did the general and undercovered pharmacy surveys in the most of pharmacies of districts in collaboration with respective DLSO. There was no record of vet diclofenac in both surveys severally then declared districts as vet diclofenac free districts.

In Sarlahi district the diclofenac free district declaration program was chaired by Dhurba Kumar Yadav, chief of District Livestock Service Office and chief guest was Raj Kishor Mahato, Local Development Oficer with a presence of Pradeep Raj Kandel, Chief District Officer.  In the program other participants were Raja Ram Shahi, acting District Forest Officer, Bisheswor Jha, District  Agriculture Development Office, Krishna Shaha, District Soil Conservation Office, Yasodha Pokhrel, Women and Child Development Office and representative from Nepal Para Veterinary and Livestock Association , DLSO staffs, Veterinary technicians/practitioners, Journalists and conservationist. The program chief guest was formally declared to Sarlahi district as 57th vet diclofenac free district by signing on the declaration banner. 

Similarly in Mahottary district the program was chaired by Dr. Jeevan Suman Singh, Chief, DLSO and the chief guests was Yubraj Paudel, Local Development Officer. Other participants were Ram Sogarath Mandal, District Agriculture Development Office, Santosh Kumar Thakur, District Public Health Office, Shankar Prasad Chaudhary, District Soil Conservation Office and representatives from Nepal Para Veterinary and Livestock Association, Nepal Para Veterinary and Technician Association, Veterinary Practitioners, media persons, conservationist and social activist. The program chief guest formally declared the Mahottari district as 58th vet diclofenac free district by signing on the declaration banner then followed by others.

Dhrub Kumar Yadav from district livestock service office Sarlahi and Dr. Jeevan Kumar Singh from district livestock service Mahottari presented the status of NSAIDs in the respective districts, monitoring strategy and diclofenac effect on vulture population collapse. Bhupal Nepali from BCN presented on vulture conservation scenario in Nepal.
