With an objective to raise awareness about the importance of
greenery around the Kathmandu valley for the conservation of birds and
biodiversity, BCN organized a half a day long nature walk “Walk for Bird” at
Nagarkot on Poush 1, 2074 (16 December, 2017).
Participants gathered in front of Nepal Tourism Board Gate
at Exhibition road early morning where three buses were standing by to take
them to Nagarkot. The Nagarkot Panaromic hiking began around 9:30 am. Participants
divided in groups then walked through Pine Jungle of Nagarkot and passed
village named Kartike enjoying the paranomic view of mountain range. The 12 km
long hike ended at Peaceful Cottage, Café De Munt in about 3 and half hours.
Participants received a certificate of participation from Vimal Thapa, Executive Council Member of BCN.
Walk for Bird is BCN’s second awareness and fund raising
initiation in 2017. More than 100 people took part in this event. The event was
supported by Dish Home and Yuktee Management.
