Every first week of Nepali New Year is celebrated as National Wildlife Week across the nation with various activities aiming to aware people about the importance of wildlife and their habitat’s conservation for sustainable future. Therefore, 24th Wildlife Week concluded conducting similar activities with theme "????????? ????????? ???? ??????? " that translates "Co-ordination for Wildlife Conservation". The event was organized by Department of National parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) with conservation partners: BCN, Care International, IUCN, FECOFUN, NTNC, IUCN and ZSL.

BCN lead the bird watching event held at Suryabinayak Forest, Bhaktapur on 4th of Baishak attended by representatives of DNPWC, conservation partners, students, BCN Members. The event began with remarks from Gopal Prakash Bhattarai,  DNPWC and then participants were divided in 4 different groups. In 3 hours long birding , 40 species were recorded and  Asian barred owlet, Large hawk-cuckoo and Common krestel  were major highlighted species.

Similarly various event such as Collage Making, Art Competition, Cleaning Campaigns and Scientific Paper presentations were conducted throughout the week.  The Conclusion event was done in DNPWC where Krishna Prashad Oli , Member , National Planning Commission Department graced the event as chief guest that was chaired by Man Bahadur Khadka, Director General , DNPWC.

Various staffs and volunteers from several organizations working in national parks and buffer zone areas were awarded at the event. BCN’s publications “Birds of Bardia National Park and Buffer Zone Area” and “Birds of Langtang National Park” were launched by the chief guest at the event.
