9th Street Exhibition And Public Awareness Campaign

Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) celebrated 9th street exhibition and public awareness campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day – 2010 at Shanti Vatika, Ratnapark. The theme for the day is "Many species. One planet. One Future."

The main objective of the campaign was to raise awareness on birds and environment to the public. The programme also supported to raise fund for the conservation of birds and their habitat. Bird information leaflets, posters and newsletter were distributed to the general public along with oral information. Fund was generated through "Char Lai Char" campaign and sales of BCN merchandize. Games and Bird Quiz, a part of fund raising through entertainment, was also included in the programme. The programme also included temporary bird tattooing of body parts which was supported by students of Sirjana College of Fine Arts. There was an exhibition of drawings made by students of different schools of the Kathmandu valley.

Ten BCN members volunteer the event with the support of the organization staffs. The programme starts from 7:30 am to 5 pm and more than six thousands people have visited BCN stall that day.
