Bird Conservation Nepal joined hands with partner
organization in the celebration of International Vulture Awareness day on 7
September 2013. It was celebrated with different events in Kanchanpur, Kailali, Bake, Bardia, Rupendehi,
Nawalparasi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Kaski, Argaakhachi and Chitwan . Interaction
program with Community people, student, VDC secretary, Community Forest User
Groups(CFUGs), Vets, youth clubs and political party leaders was organized.
Vulture awareness rallies were participated by CFUGs, Income Generation groups, ECO clubs
Journalist, Political parties, agro-vets and social workers. In one of the
program in Palpa, Mr. Bhupal Nepali, field officer of BCN presented the
objective of celebration of International vulture awareness day, vulture and
it's importance, causes of vulture decline and role of community people in
vulture conservation.
These events helped to raise awareness on vulture
conservation. Different women forestry user groups committed to include vulture
conservation activities in their program. Likewise district forest office of
different districts committed to support CFUGs for plantation, micro enterprise
and agro forestry.
