BCN with support of Birdlife International and Dansk
Ornithologisk Forening (DOF) organized a Four days long workshop
"Integrating Rights & Social Issues in Conservation" to BCN
staffs, EC members and conservation professionals from 8th to 11th of November
2016 in Lumbini Nepal.
The training was designed to increase awareness and capacity
of Conservation professionals to address the social and rights based approach
of conservation and Natural resource management. With "active
learning" approach based on practical exercises and interactive talks
participants shared their experiences from their own projects.
The team also visited Jatayu Restaurant at Gaida Taal
Lumbini as a part of field assignment.
They were divided in different groups and assigned to study different
aspect of community and how they function on daily basis. They also visited Vulture safe feeding sites
and inspect livelihood uplifting works of BCN on a Local level. The learning
and experience sharing course was led by the trainers Billy Fairburn from Bird
Life International and Charlotte Mathiassen from Dansk Ornithologisk Forening
(DOF).
