Following the declaration of Dang as the first Diclofenac Free District, seven more districts, Chitwan, Kanchanpur, Banke, Nawaplarasi, Palpa, Kailali and Bardiya have been declared as diclofenac free respectively on December 25, December 28 (2010), January 1, Jnauary 16, January 21, January 25, and January 28 2011. All districts were declared as diclofenac free under the leadership of District Livestock Service Office and with participation of government line agencies, veterinary professionals, media and conservation organizations. The project is supported by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, UNDP/ Global Environmet Facility/Small Grants Fund, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds/Darwin Initiative, Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund/Zoological Society of London, Rufford Small grants for Nature and SOS Conservation Leadership Programme.
