Bird Conservation Nepal actively participated in the Climate Change
awareness programme organized by International Climate Champions (ICC), a
network formed by British Council, at Hanuman Dhoka, Kathmandu on 10th of
April, 2010. BCN had set a stall to deliver the information about "Climate
Change Impacts on Birds". A climate change flex poster was displayed along
with "Chara lai Char" campaign. "Chara lai Char" which
means "Rupees Four for birds" is an innovative campaign currently
started by BCN to raise fund for the conservation of birds impacted by Climate
Change. Besides these, there were T-shirts, badges, posters and books published
by BCN, on sale.
To sensitize and highlight the current
environment problems through music, concert programme had been organized by
ICC. Prior to the concert, Gautam Sapkota (Charidada) entertained the spectator
by bird mimicry. Different participating concert band in the programme
delivered awareness messages to the public along with their performance.
