Under the Bee the Change program, implemented by BCN with financial support from Friends of Nepal (FON), a five-day advanced apiculture training was conducted in Tamghas, Gulmi, from 13–17 March 2026. The training targeted women from Wards 9 and 10 of Resunga Municipality and aimed to strengthen sustainable beekeeping practices while promoting apiculture as a viable and environmentally friendly livelihood option.

The training covered advanced beekeeping techniques, including colony management, seasonal hive management, disease and pest control, queen rearing, colony splitting for hive multiplication, honey harvesting, processing, quality control, packaging, and marketing. Participants also gained knowledge on the ecological importance of bees in pollination, their contribution to agricultural productivity, and their critical role in conserving biodiversity and maintaining healthy ecosystems.

A total of 25 women were selected to participate in the training based on socioeconomic vulnerability, with priority given to women from underprivileged, single and low-income households. The program aimed to enhance participants' technical skills and entrepreneurial capacity to improve the production, processing, and commercialization of high-quality bee products, thereby creating opportunities for sustainable income generation.

To facilitate the practical application of the skills acquired during the training, BCN provided each participant with a bee-box and a basic beekeeping tool kit each to 25 women to enable them to establish or expand their own beekeeping enterprises. In addition, participants received 15 one-kilogram honey jars and customized product labels to support hygienic packaging, branding, and marketing of their honey products.
