Bird Watching Tourism Training For Trekking Guides

Bird Conservation Nepal in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB)and Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) organized  "Bird Watching Tourism Training” for trekking guides on 5th and 6th February 2017 at Kathmandu. 

Two days long theory and field based training program was designed to enhance their capacity on bird watching. On the first day, participants learned about status of birds of Nepal, conservation and tourism, bird watching techniques, from Jyotendra Jyu Thakuri, Senior Porgram Officer, Krishna Bhusal Vulture Program Officer and Mitra Pandey, Field Officer from BCN. On afternoon field visit was organized to Taudaha Lake.

 Second day began with filed visit to Pulchowki for bird watching that lasted from early morning till noon. Participants learned about the “rules and regulations” in protected areas from Laxman Prasad Poudel, Ecologist of DNPWC. Rajendra Gurung, General Secretary briefed on "Code and Conduct for Bird Watchers". 

Dr. Narendra Man Babu Pradhan, CEO BCN, Karna Bahadur Lama, Secretary TAAN addressed the closing ceremony. Participants were awarded with certificate.
